THE SENIOR THESIS AND “YEAR THESES”
In writing the thesis, the student demonstrates that, after several years of study, he/she is able to present a topic of his/her choice within a theological discipline in a manner appropriate to his/her field of specialization and in line with the academic requirements (please note that these requirements differ from the BA to the MA level). The PPHF’s “year thesis” system can significantly facilitate student research, as all students are required to write one year thesis every semester starting from the second year. These essays, if written related topics, can toad up to lay the foundation of the senior thesis.

Thesis criteria
Students are required to keep the following criteria in mind as they prepare their thesis proposals:
a) Students must choose a thesis topic in agreement with the thesis supervisor no later than the semester preceding the submission of the thesis. In order to receive a mark for final year thesis course, the student must indicate the topic and the supervisor of the thesis in the appendix of the thesis.
b) Under the guidance of the thesis supervisor, the student must indicate the title of his/her thesis and develop the thesis statement. The thesis statement provides the logical framework of the thesis and must include:
– a theological or pastoral justification for the choice of the thesis topic,
– a precise formulation of the question addressed in the thesis,
– a description of the methods to be used to explore the topic,
– the steps and main sources used to explore the topic,
– the bibliography of the thesis.
