In accordance with the needs of the diocese, we offer a specialisation in „Caritaswissenschaft” (Caritas Science) at our institution. The aim of the program is to enable our students to become professionally prepared and committed to the remediation of various social problems and to help disadvantaged people and groups within the framework of church-affiliated or other charitable organisations.
The MA in Pastoral Counselling and Organizational Development provides is a state-recognised college degree providing professional qualification in theology.
The program is open to part-time/correspondence students only.
Duration of training 4 semesters.

Qualification obtained: Certified specialist in pastoral counselling and organizational development.
Practical training includes:
- Practice in social and welfare institutions – under the guidance of a mentor
- opportunities for placement abroad
- opportunities for study at the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Pécs (recognition of credits, opportunity to attend courses)

This degree entitles its holder to lead charitable institution and to work as therapeutic assistants.
Prerequisites for the program include
- a degree in theology (BA or MA)
- those not holding a bachelor’s degree in theology must collect additional credits (50 credits are offered in the form of two semester-long theological preparation modules or in a flexible distribution over the four semesters of the program.)
Those with eligible (state-subsidized) semesters can complete the course free of charge with a state scholarship. Eligibility for financial support will be assessed on a case-by-case basis by the Department of Academic Affairs, but most students are eligible for at least partial support! Those without eligible (state subsidized) semesters may enroll on a self-pay basis, with tuition fees of 210.000 HUF per semester.
